To provide free access to clean cooking energy, on November 1, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu visited Edupuram in Srikakulam district to launch the Deepam 2.0 scheme, aiming at empowering women by providing them with free gas cylinders. The initiative promotes the use of cleaner cooking fuel (LPG), enhancing household health and safety. The citizens of Andhra Pradesh state can book their LPG gas cylinders under the Deepam 2.0 Scheme from 29th October 2024 to 31st March 2025, A total of INR 894 crore was given by the Chief Minister as per the information that within 48 hours of receiving the cylinder, the rebate money would be deposited into the eligible woman’s bank account.
