About Karnataka Namo Stree Yojana
Karnataka Namo Stree Yojana was launched by the Chief Minister of Karnataka Mr. Basavaraj Bommai on the special occasion of International Women’s Day. In this scheme government will be giving interest free loan and business training to the women who wanted to setup a business related to chips, pottery, castor oil, jam and etc. In this scheme the loan amount giving to beneficiary will be directly transferred in the beneficiary bank account, so their is no chance of corruption. Till know 50,000 associations have been identified for setting up three industrial unit and 15 product manufacturing unit in each district under the yojana.
Under this scheme Karnataka government aim is to create five lakh new jobs for women till 2026. Karnataka state government has allocated a budget of Rs 500 crore for the successful implementation of the Namo Stree Yojana. Till now Rs. 100 crore has been released for the 9,890 women self-help groups of the state, so that they can create employment opportunity for other women.
